FOCUS ON THE AMERICAS EN LA
AT WORLD WATER WEEK 2025

August 24–28, 2025

Stockholm, Sweden (Waterfront Congress Center) and online

World Water Week 2025, organized by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI), will focus on “Water for Climate Action”, recognizing that we cannot address the climate crisis without first addressing water challenges. Water is essential for mitigation, adaptation, and resilience to environmental emergencies, biodiversity loss, and ecosystem degradation.

In this context, the Focus on the Americas is a regional platform that highlights solutions, challenges, and progress in water and sanitation in Latin America and the Caribbean. Under the theme "Water as a Bridge for Climate Action and Regional Cooperation", this 2025 edition highlights the role of water as a tool to reduce inequalities, protect ecosystems, and strengthen water governance. Driven by a diverse community of regional and international actors, the Focus on the Americas Program brings together governments, operators, academia, civil society, the private sector, and multilateral organizations to share experiences, promote innovation, and strengthen partnerships toward more resilient and sustainable development.
